Ajith worked as a Senior Advisor on planning and implementing climate resilient green growth strategies for government partners, with the Global Green Growth Institute in India, an intergovernmental organization dedicated to promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing and emerging economies. He brings twelve years’ experience in program management and consulting, involving agriculture, natural resources management, water, government reform and green growth.
Working with partner governments, Ajith has helped develop co-benefits based investment and policy prioritization tools for climate resilience and led policy analyses on urban water systems and multi-sectoral, climate resilient green growth strategies. Moving along the policy cycle, he has successfully transformed evidence-based research and diagnostics to sub-sectoral policies and implementation-grade, bankable proposals. Ajith led unique interventions and government engagements resulting in the introduction of electric mobility in public transport and drafting an implementation roadmap for India’s first sub-national micro irrigation policy.
Ajith is a Fulbright fellow with a MPA in Environmental Policy Management from Columbia University and a post-graduate degree in Agricultural Sciences from NDRI, India.
