Ilmi Islami

Ilmi has more than six years' experience in qualitative research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL). She focuses her work on climate change, renewable energy, gender and social inclusion, and good governance. Ilmi is recently re-joining OPM as a consultant, after a year of dedicating herself to work as a MEL Manager for a UK-Indonesia bilateral partnership in low carbon energy programme, MENTARI. There, she led the implementation of MEL and acted as 'critical friend' for the Senior Leadership Team (SMT), programme team, and Operational team to enhance the programme performance.

In total, Ilmi has been with OPM for more than three years, having started as an assistant consultant sitting in Indonesia Office. She has been involved in numerous research-based or MEL-based projects and bidding, assisted OPM team as MEL partner for countering anti-sexual and reproductive health and rights movement project in Kenya, and managed and carried out a value for money assessment for Australia-Indonesia Economic Programme, Prospera. She also carried out qualitative analysis and social media listening for Global Recovery Campaign for renewable energy in Brazil and South Africa. She has worked with various donors, foundations, and development partners during her career, including FCDO, DFAT, World Bank, UN agencies, CIFF, the Government of Indonesia, and international and Indonesia-based NGOs/CSOs.

In her spare time, Ilmi has assisted Indonesian-based CSOs/NGOs/Alliance as a volunteer in enhancing their organizational capacity, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, and learning.
