Michael Adenew

Michael Adenew leads OPM’s strategic initiatives in Ethiopia, collaborating with key continental organisations such as the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa, and tailoring OPM's strategies to meet the region's specific needs and in building key relationships with governments, development partners, and stakeholders.

Michael brings over 20 years of experience from working in the US, UK, and Africa at the intersection of technology, development, and public sector support. He has led major satellite and technology-related initiatives that tackled critical developmental challenges. His work with international bodies including the UN, World Bank, FCDO, USAID, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, has enabled him to effectively integrate global best practices with local solutions.

Michael holds an MSc in Business Information Technology Management and a BA (Hons) in Management of Business Information from the University of Westminster. He is a member of the British Computer Society and an Associate of Project Management. As a speaker on digital transformation, he is dedicated to using technology to drive developmental progress and impactful change.
