Oxford Policy Management’s consultants Rodolfo Beazley and Valentina Barca will be speaking at the first Regional Seminar on Shock-Responsive Social Protection in Latin America and the Caribbean, which will take place over two days on 30 and 31 October 2017 in Lima, Peru.

Organized by the World Food Programme, in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social Development and Inclusion of the Government of Peru, the conference aims to foster an exchange between countries and promote regional dialogue on the role of national social protection systems in response to emergencies.

OPM’s social protection team will present key findings from an extensive research on shock-responsive social protection in Latin America and the Caribbean, which aimed to help define the debate around the role of social protection systems in shock response and inform key actors about the factors that can enable systems to be more responsive.

The event will bring together more than 100 participants from various Latin American and Caribbean countries, regional and international organisations, researchers and partners.

Selected seminars from the conference will be livestreamed online, in both English and Spanish. Click here for more information.
