Over the last decade, the international community (both public and private members), regional bodies, and civil society have cobbled together a variety of responses to the challenges of natural resource governance (NRG). Major players in this space are looking to evaluate and coordinate their efforts with a view to building a proactive strategic vision of NRG reform moving forward. What is needed to accomplish this task is to establish the current NRG landscape and map out its players, their activities, and their logic for intervention. This piece of work will develop a framework to consider the natural resource governance field holistically and then map actors and activities along this framing. Finally, it will include an analysis of the field presently with a discussion on what approaches and strategies may be at the forefront of NRG reform interventions, exploring the variables that contribute to any identified successes, and identifying critical areas for further work.
