The overall objective of this consultancy was to carry out a Mid-Term Review (MTR) for the PROSPER programme on behalf of DFID Bangladesh. The PROSPER Programme's purpose is to ensure that ‘Sustainable micro-finance sector in Bangladesh offers greater access to, and usage of, diversified financial services for the poor people and micro, small enterprises & farmers’. The £40 million, 7 year programme has three interrelated components supporting – a range of flexible financial and non-financial services (through PKSF and its partners); improved regulatory environment for the microfinance sector, through newly established Microcredit regulatory authority; and better research, evidence, training and knowledge management through a newly established Institute of Microfinance.
