Biography

Smita Notosusanto has worked in the development sector for 15 years focusing on voice and accountability, governance, decentralisation and gender. An Indonesian national, she led an NGO working for Constitutional and Electoral Reform during the political transition in Indonesia from 1998-2002. She served as the Governance Adviser for the UK Department for International Development (DFID) Indonesia since 2006 and was responsible for the management and design of DFID’s programmes on decentralisation, anti–corruption, gender and climate change. During her tenure with DFID, Smita has performed evaluation work for DFID in India and Myanmar. She recently performed work for OPM in the multi-country study on Public Sector Governance Reform (2011).
